SALEM – Someone’s stealing diesel fuel from rural areas across Central and Eastern Oregon.

Oregon State Police are investigating the thefts, which they say have occurred in 15 counties including Grant and Harney.

Police identified typical targets of the fuel thefts as heavy equipment, farm implements and fixed fuel storage containers ranging in size from 50 to 1,000 gallons.

Anyone with information about the thefts should call OSP Northern Command Center at 1-800-452-7888, or email Senior Trooper Mike Mayer, at MMayer@osp.state.or.us.
