Wholesale gasoline prices continue to climb, and the national average price for a gallon of regular - currently $2.97 - is apt to hit $3 this week.

The national average price rose by 10 cents last week, and Oregon prices rise more than 15 cents a gallon, pushing the statewide average up to $3.28.

AAA Oregon Public Affairs Director Elliott Eki said the Shell refinery in Anacortes, Washington, and a refinery in California, were experiencing production problems, which had an immediate impact on prices in the West Coast states.
