Grant County Historical Museum marks 50 years

Curator Jayne Primrose

CANYON CITY - The Grant County Historical Museum will proudly celebrate its 50th anniversary this year.

Using a 1953 guest book and its guide, the weekend of 62 Days, June 6-8, has been selected for kick-off to the celebration. The museum will be open as usual, but on Sat-urday, June 7, admission will be by donation only.

The Grant County Historical Museum, located near the Canyon City Post Office, has recently undergone some refurbishing, and the public is invited to stop and in and see the progress.

Museum curator Jayne Primrose extends a special invitation for visitors to see local "old relics" at the Oregon Historical Society in Portland during a year-long exhibit titled: "Oregon's History A-Z." The special exhibit, Sept. 27, 2003-July 31, 2004, highlights the society's recent building renovation.

For more information, call the local museum at 575-0362.
