JOHN DAY - Grant County Under-15 Soccer will wrap up the 2008 season this weekend. The final game of the season will be McDonald's vs Pendleton Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Seventh Street Complex.

Score: McDonald's 7 vs. Pendleton U12 Select 2

Players of the Game: Tynan Callahan and Joe Wunz

A very good defensive game was played, with goalkeepers Joe Wunz and Omar Medina stopping numerous attempts on goal. Goals were scored by Trent Sohr (3), Tynan Callahan (2), Ian Humbird (1) and Gordon Ashmead (1).

Oct. 10 in Pendleton

Prairie Drug Captains: Sarah McNeil and Connor Broemeling

Players of the Game: Harsh Patel, Omar Medina and Ian Humbird

This was a tough, hard-fought competition, bringing out the best in team play for the Grant County team. Goals were scored by Omar Medina (2) and Ian Humbird (1).

Oct. 17 in Hermiston

Grant County Youth Soccer U15 players traveled first to Irrigon to watch the Grant Union High School Varsity Soccer team in action. They then traveled to Hermiston to play an evening game under the lights. The players really enjoyed the opportunity to compete under the lights, and held the score at 2-2 until the last few minutes when the Heat managed their winning goal. Goals were scored by Omar Medina (1) and Trent Sohr (1).

Oct. 25 in John Day

Grant County Youth Soccer hosted the Hermiston Heat at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, thawing out the frosty field for the big high school games following in the afternoon. Home field advantage did not quite pay off in this fast-paced game. Excellent teamwork was displayed by the McDonalds team. Goal scored by Omar Medina (1).

Nov. 1 in John Day

Players of the Game: Lindsey Webb and Hannah Brandsma

Goals were scored by Connor Broemeling (1), Omar Medina (1) and Trent Sohr (3).
