CANYON CITY - Voter turnout in Grant County has already hit 61.13 percent, as of a count late Monday morning, Nov. 3.

The County Clerk's office reported that 2,774 ballots have been returned out of a total 4,538 registered voters.

A breakdown shows that 1,411 Republicans - or 62 percent of the county's registered GOP voters - have returned their ballots.

Among registered Democrats, 844 or 66 percent, have returned their ballots.

County residents registered as Independents or "other" have turned in 519 ballots, or 52 percent.

Ballots are due by 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, and can be dropped off at City Halls, the Grant County Courthouse, the Grant County Library and other locations across the county.
