Baker def. Grant Union 63-50
BAKER CITY - Problems on the court continued for the Grant Union High School boys' basketball team on Tuesday, Dec. 17, as the Prospectors lost their fifth straight game of the season, falling 63-50 at the hands of Baker.
The Bulldogs took a 19-10 lead after the first eighth minutes of action before the Prospectors (0-5) began staging a second-quarter comeback.
In the second period, Grant Union's shooters got hot and out-scored Baker 15-8 to trim the lead to just two points, 27-25 at the halftime break.
However, the momentum reversed in the third period as the Bulldogs came roaring back with 22 points to push the lead to 49-40 heading into the final quarter of play.
Trevor Simmons scored 20 points to lead the Grant Union attack, but he was the only Prospector in double figures.
Mitch Grover scored a game-high 29 points for Baker.
