JOHN DAY - Area businesses are invited to show their spirit and support for Grant Union High School during Spirit Week leading up to homecoming on Friday, Oct. 17.
Businesses are encouraged to show their spirit and compete with decorations, representation of all sports, school colors and employees dress-up. Since the homecoming game is against the Enterprise Savages, another aspect of the judging will be on "Savage" creativity - which is not to include any degradation or reference to American Indians. To be judged, contact Associated Student Body public relations officer Kristal Holliday or ASB advisor Charissa Hixenbaugh; call the school office at (541) 575-1799. Judging for businesses will be conducted 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17. The two top businesses from the competition will be announced Friday evening.
The GUHS senior class is requesting donations of firewood from the community. Burnable wood items to be used at the Wednesday night bonfire are requested. Class members will transport the firewood to the bonfire location at the Grant County Fairgrounds. Call (541) 575-0710 to make arrangements for pick-up.
