GUHS volleyball players earn recognition

PORTLAND - The Grant Union High School volleyball team, which finished in second place at the OSAA/US Bank/Les Schwab Tires Class 2A state tournament at David Douglas High School on Nov. 8-9, had three players named as all-state performers.

Senior Ashley Workman was voted as a first-team all-star, and senior Abby Workman earned a place on the second team.

Junior Amanda Courchesne was named as a member of the third team.

Senior Jana Brotherton from Union was voted Class 2A player of the year, and Union coach Patti Herron was named coach of the year.
