They battled with lasers, inflated boxing gloves, and padded jousting lances, struggled to score a basket while tied to their opponent and took a chance on being thrown from a mechanical bull, but it was all in good fun as high school students from around the county celebrated New Year's Eve at Grant Union High School. There was a disc jockey in another room playing dance music for the less adventurous. The school and Parks and Rec. co-sponsored the shindig.

The Whiskey Gulch Gang brought in the new year with a cozy fire, some appetizers, cold drinks, a game of Scrabble and some friendly conversation, which included this forecast of what the new year will bring:
