BURNS – Organizers are seeking donations and help for a massive hay drive to aid ranchers affected by the rangeland fires this summer.

RESTOR, an Oregon Cattlemen’s Association task force, is planning to deliver some 400 tons of hay to the ranches this week. On Wednesday, the hay will be taken to Burns, and then on to ranches in the Frenchglen and Jordan Valley area.

Colby Marshall, task force chair, said many generous individuals and businesses have offered help.

Charitable donations of cash or in-kind contributions (including hay, supplies, transportation, and livestock relocation options) are still being accepted online, via phone, or in person at the OCA office. To make a charitable contribution to the Fire Victims Relief Fund, or to offer in-kind or relocation assistance, please contact Kay Teisl, executive director of OCA, at 503-361-8941 or via email kayteisl@orcattle.com. Contributions can also be made online at http://www.orcattle.com/make-a-donation-ocsf.html.
