BAKER CITY - Two classes are offered at Baker City this month to help people prepare for working with hazardous materials.

A 40-hour session of HazMat, or hazardous materials, site-worker training is being offered at Blue Mountain Community College's Baker City campus on four consecutive days, March 24-27, at a cost of $550 per student. There is no prerequisite to take the training. This course will satisfy all local, state and federal training and qualification requirements for Hazardous Waste Operation and Emergency Response Personnel.

An eight-hour HazMat site-worker refresher course will be held March 28, at a cost of $175 per student. Prerequisites for this class require 40-hour HazMat training.
