Health Tip of the Week: Consider this before getting a tattoo

Having a prominent tattoo that cannot be covered by clothing can limit your career opportunities. Some employers will not hire people with visible tattoos, especially if they will be dealing with the public.

Recently, all branches of the U.S. military have established policies that prohibit all tattoos on the face, head and neck; tattoos that are representative of gang or drug-related activities; and tattoos that are obscene or advocate racial or religious discrimination.

Tattooing is prohibited by Islam, and some Jews believe that the Torah forbids tattooing.
