To avoid getting infected with a disease carried by animals:

• Cook your food well.

• Sanitize knives and cutting boards that have had contact with raw

meat or fish before using them for other food.

• Wash your hands before preparing food or eating.

• Wash your hands after contact with animals or their feces.

• Don't inhale dust containing dried animal feces.

• Avoid mosquito and other insect bites.

• If bitten by a bat or other animal, get medical treatment right away.
