Highway 395 reopened after log truck overturns

The highway is now open after an Iron Triangle log truck trailer overturned while headed toward John Day on Highway 395 South Friday.

The truck was towing two trailers. The rear trailer overturned while negotiating a right turn between mile marker 13 and 14 between John Day and Seneca. Roughly a dozen logs were spilled onto the shoulder of the road at around 11:30 a.m., according to John Day dispatch.

Forest Service law enforcement, Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon Department of Transportation and Oregon State Police responded.

The driver said he was uninjured. The road was temporarily closed while the trailer and debris were removed from the roadway, according to dispatch. The road was reopened at about 12:55 p.m.
