JOHN DAY - Each year, EORenew looks for one home or business to host the next summer's pre-SolWest installation workshop.

The installation will be done the week before SolWest Fair (last full weekend of July) by a class of technical students under the direction of an instructor, who is a professional solar installer.

The system will be designed to suit the home or business owner's needs and wants.

Instructor and students will provide their labor without charge to the owner.

In return, the owner must be willing to purchase the equipment specified and to help with load analysis (supplying usage data), energy conservation and site preparation.

The ideal site would be within 50 miles of John Day.

If the homeowner is low-income and does not have electric service to the home, EORenew can help apply for a low-interest loan.

Send applications to EORenew, P.O. Box 485, Canyon City, OR 97820 or by e-mail to info@solwest.org.

Personal inquiries may be made at 575-3633 or at 150 E. Main St., Room 105, John Day.
