DAYVILLE - The action was exciting on Saturday, Aug. 23, as a total of 37 of the county's young generation of cowboys and cowgirls ranging in age from 3 to 18 gathered at the G Lazy 6 Arena for the third in a series of horse playdays.

The cool air, left by the rainfall the night before, had the horses and ponies feeling a bit frisky, with several kicking up their heels, and Saturday's event was the biggest one of the summer thus far.

Playdays not only give the participants the opportunity to have fun, but they also learn horsemanship, horse etiquette and gain gaming skills.

Not all cowboys are born, many are made, and playdays are a great learning experience for the youngsters.

Everyone is invited to attend the final playdays of the series on Saturday, Sept. 13, at the G Lazy 6 Arena, and there will be an awards ceremony and potluck following the event.
