How to prepare for a career in health care

How to prepare for a career in health care

• Take as many health and science classes as you can in school.

• Talk to any health care professionals you meet. Ask them about their jobs, their education, and for their advice.

• Go to the library and find information about health care careers.

• Search the Internet for information on health care careers.

• Start a file and collect newspaper articles on health care topics.

• Contact colleges and universities about their admission requirements and find out what health care programs they offer.

• Volunteer in a local hospital, nursing home or other health care facility. This will look great on your resume, as well as giving you a chance to meet health care professionals and see what they do on a daily basis.
