• John Day Public Works Director reported vehicles were parked in no parking zones which created a problem for city plows to remove snow.

• A vehicle was reportedly being driven in a reckless manner in the area of the Traveler's Motel.

• An abandoned vehicle was reported at a location on Middle Ford Road. Information referred to the Grant County Sheriff's Department.

• A vehicle was reportedly being driven in a reckless manner in the area of First Baptist Church.

• A fight was reported at the Meadowbrook Apartment complex. Verbal only, parties involved were separated.

• A theft of soda cans was reported at a residence in the 100 block of Northeast Elm Street.

Jan. 11

• Three horses were reported in the highway at a location in the 59000 block of Highway 26. Owner of animals was contacted.

• The Dirty Shame Restaurant reported receiving several bad checks.

• The Grubsteak Restaurant reported receiving several bad checks.

Jan. 12

• A fight was reported at the Mountain View Mini Mart. Information referred to the Prairie City Police Department. A verbal altercation. Parties involved split up, no further action taken.

Jan. 14

• Street lights were reported out at several locations around town. Information referred to the John Day Public Works Department.

Jan. 15

• A sewer motor overload alarm was reported. Information referred to the John Day Public Works Department. Alarm was reset.

• An incident of harassment by telephone was reported at a residence in the 65000 block of Highway 26. Information referred to the Prairie City Police Department.

• A "red glow in the sky" was reported Northwest of Mt. Vernon. Reporting party stated the glow lasted about 40 minutes.

• A woman was reported standing in the road on Highway 395 near milepost 77 northbound. Information referred to the Grant County Sheriff's Department. Subject was contacted and advised of the hazadarous situation.

Jan. 16

• A fresh set of antlers reportedly wrapped in a red T-shirt was reported in the dumpster at the Meadowbrook Apartment complex. Information referred to the Oregon State Police. Antlers were confiscated.

• An incident of disorderly conduct was reported at a location in the Riverside Trailer Park.

• Three men with rifles and a dog were reported trespassing at a location in the 100 block of Thompson Road. Information referred to the Grant County Sheriff's Department.
