JOHN DAY - The entree Monday, July 11, was very delicious pizza. Toni and Kim do that to perfection! Sunset Inn furnished the meal, and Valley View Assisted Living served.

Kim Trujllo led the flag salute and Ivan Porfiley asked the blessing.

A guest was Jean Farrell, renewing acquaintances from years past.

The certificate from Len's was given to Ed Griffin and Wilma's name was drawn for the certificate from John Day Pharmacy.

Wednesday night bingo players furnished Thursday's entree.

Toni and Cindy and very able helper, Dot, pulled off another winner. Baked pork chops, with stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, steamed carrots, Jell-O salad and fudge brownies were enjoyed by a capacity crowd. Thirteen tables were set and served by members of the Mt. Vernon Grange.

This meal was accomplished very ably, while the ovens were being repaired.

Congrats to the chefs!

July birthdays were recognized, with the bouquet from Flowers 'n' More going to a deserving Ila North, who is celebrating 97 years.

Billie Bullard led the flag salute and Ben Luthe asked the blessing.

Jessie Elliott's name was drawn for a free meal from the site council, Bob Larkin will be trimmed at Otis Kecker's barbershop and Ivan Porfily can shop at Chester's Thriftway with his certificate.

July 21 enjoy baked chicken and mac and cheese.

Jean Farrell was guest again, while she enjoys visiting back in Grant County. She was accompanied by her son, Terry, and daughter-in-law, Linda.
