DAYVILLE - The Lady Tigers picked a great weekend to show their claws on the volleyball court.

Not only did the Dayville/Monument team win big at home, in their own Tiger Tournament Oct. 16, but they swept the competition not losing one game through the bracket play.

According to coach Stephanie Reed, the team went into the tournament in last place and finished first, beating Prairie City, Mitchell, Burnt River and finally Spray, in the championship game.

"It was a wonderful victory for us," Reed said.

Reed added that Shyanne Winters did a great job of dedicating the tournament to breast cancer survivors and victims.

She said the girls gave a presentation about breast cancer facts and also held a bake sale, with all the proceeds going to the Breast Cancer Foundation.

The Lady Tigers also won all three matches Oct. 12 against Long Creek, with scores of 25-15, 25-4 and 25-10.

Next on the schedule, it's Homecoming time as the girls face Harper/Huntington Friday, Oct. 22, in the Dayville gym. They play Burnt River on Tuesday, Oct. 26, in Monument.
