Oregon State linebacker Michael Doctor was granted a fifth year of eligibility Thursday by the Pac-12 Conference.

Doctor suffered a season-ending ankle injury in the second game of the 2013 season.

The Tulsa, Okla., native was granted a medical hardship for the 2013 season by meeting several criteria, including the fact that he did not play in more than four of the first six games of the year per NCAA rules.

A co-team captain in 2013, Doctor has a team-leading 185 career tackles going into 2014, including 17.5 for loss and three interceptions.

Doctor will participate in spring practice beginning March 31, culminating in the Spring Football Showcase May 3 at Reser Stadium.
