LC student chosen for youth forum

LONG CREEK - Isaac Studtmann of Long Creek will participate in the Society for Ranch Management's High School Youth Forum, set for Jan. 29-Feb. 1 in Spokane.

Studtmann, a junior at Long Creek High School, was selected by the Society's Pacific Northwest section. The forum is a youth activity held in conjuction with the organization's 65th annual meeting.

This year's theme is "Lessons from the Past - Strategies for the Future."

Each delegate to the forum will compete in a paper presentation on a range-related topic, with the top five winners recognized at an awards ceremony. Other activities include an ecological field tour of the meeting site and a communication skills program.

Studtmann has played basketball and football at Long Creek, participates in 4-H, and is currently student body president. He is the son of Ed and Linda Studtmann of Long Creek.

The SRM is an international organization that strives to promote public awareness of sound management and use of rangeland.
