Leonard A. Wright

Leonard A. Wright died April 25, 2006, in Vancouver, Wash., of complications due to emphysema. He was 78.

There was a graveside service on April 29, 2006, at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Vancouver, Wash.

He was born January 9, 1928, in Fox Valley to Alva L. and LaVerne L. (Johns) Wright. He grew up in Fox Valley, John Day and Mt. Vernon, where he met his wife of 59 years, T. Ione McDonald.

Mr. Wright worked at S&M Motors and for a sawmill before moving to Dufur, in 1957, where he and Ione bought the telephone company. They retired in 1996, and moved to Vancouver, Wash. to be near family.

Mr. Wright enjoyed spending time with his family. He never missed his children's

sports events and was a jack of all trades. He liked reading and watching westerns.

He is survived by his wife, Ione; children, Carla Corson, Teresa Graham, Sean Wright and Shannon Neibert; grandchildren, Cherie Corson, Ronnie Graham, Stephannie Esqueda, Zachary, Sarah and Brooke Neibert, TJ Bennison, John and Joe Pless; and great-grandchildren, Ronnie and Chloey Graham.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Irene Damon; and son, Pat Wright.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the charity of your choice.
