To the Editor:

I would like to compliment Kay Scheurer on her well thought-out comments in the July 18 Blue Mountain Eagle. They are echoing the thoughts of a number of the people I have talked to. It would seem to me that all that are involved with this problem should take a deep breath, acknowledge areas that are agreeable to both, then work on the ones that are going to require giving on both sides. The economic condition of our county is such that all of us may have to tighten our belts and do some things we don't really want to.

The thought of a Posse Comitatus acting in the county is scarier, knowing what kinds of individuals are attracted to those kinds of organizations. We have men and women fighting and dying for our freedoms and rights; don't let it be in vain.

Those that I have talked to feel this isn't a situation that requires recall; that idea should be dropped.
