I encourage the citizens and voters of Grant County to vote for Jim Carpenter for district attorney. I have known Jim for many, many years. He is the only real local candidate, as he has been a part of Grant County since his family moved here in 1972. His claim of local ties, local knowledge and local experience are his own, and not based on claims that he knows or is related to long-time residents.

Jim and his family are here to stay. He has bought property here and has been a long-time participant in community activities, including the John Day City Planning Committee and the county's Board of Property Tax Appeals. Jim has also recently completed an EMT course, and when he receives his state certification, Jim plans to be an active volunteer for the local ambulance service.

I know that Jim has gone the extra mile for his clients and the citizens of our county. I know that he will continue to do so as the district attorney.

Jim is dedicated to bringing fairness and stability to the position. Jim may not be handing out fancy brochures or attending new meetings and committees so that he could talk with many of you, but he will always look out for the best interests of our county and will always be available and will take time to discuss our concerns and ideas as they arise.

Jim is the candidate shown in the voter's pamphlet. The campaign promises he makes in there are simple to understand and are not agenda driven.

Jim is the best candidate for district attorney, and I encourage you to vote for him today.
