Jerry Holland's letter (BME, Jan. 11) complains that those "anti-Bush" cartoons creeping into our local paper would be better left within that epitome of the "liberal media," The Oregonian. And here we thought the Republican-owned Oregonian was blatantly conservative. We happen to feel that lampooning politicians is a fine American tradition, neither liberal nor conservative. This of course wouldn't be allowed in countries with an emperor or a king, but luckily we have an elected president. Thank you for providing some local diversity and making many of us more comfortable with and interested in the BME.
