To the Editor:

The Thrift Shop is a business that receives a large number of donations every day. We are very appreciative of the items we receive, but once in awhile we are asked to accept items that we are unable to sell, such as mattresses, old appliances, computers, and furniture that is ripped or stained. Although we try to accommodate everyone to the best of our ability, we cannot accept items that should go to the dump. We have very little room to store even good things. It costs us time and money to handle these items.
