I am a service member deployed to Iraq. I was recently home in Grant County on military leave. During my time away from the military I was truly amazed at the outpouring of generosity and gratitude displayed toward myself and other military men and women.

This does my heart good to know that so many are behind us, despite their own political views on the Iraqi situation.

I visited my son Kyle's school while I was home; seeing all the children made me realize just what I fighting for in a country so far away.

Many thanks to Grant County for making my leave so enjoyable. I look forward to returning home.
