Rep. Greg Walden is to be highly commended for his dedication to agriculture and the natural resource users of Oregon.

He has worked tirelessly to bring the Healthy Forest Act into being and, to that end, was instrumental in bringing a congressional hearing to Central Oregon to allow affected individuals, businesses and scientists to give their comments on the issue.

He is continuing to assist Oregonians in their efforts to manage public and private forests in such a way as to ensure their productivity and reduce the threat of destructive and dangerous fires.

His involvement in the Klamath Basin issue is outstanding. He was there for the Bucket Brigade to show the people of Klamath his acknowledgment of their plight.

Most recently, he participated in a congressional hearing in the basin that was intended to bring to the front issues that need to be resolved.

He understands that water must be allocated for all beneficial uses based on scientific data that is backed by analysis, not political hysteria.

The people of Oregon are extremely fortunate to have Greg Walden representing us in Washington, D.C.
