BURNS - Two Grant County Elks Lodge Hoop Shoot winners advanced to the Oregon Elks Hoop Shoot Finals last week.

Maya Thomas (girls ages 10-11) and Mitchell Moulton (boys ages 12-13) earned a spot in the state competition by placing first in the Southeast District Elks Hoop Shoot held in Burns on Saturday, Jan. 31.

Thomas and Moulton won the southeast district competition of the Elks Hoop Shoot in their respective age brackets against other local Elks Lodge Hoop Shoot winners from Burns, Madras, Lakeview, Prineville, Bend, Klamath Falls, and Ontario.

Both Thomas and Moulton will now have the opportunity to compete in the State Finals for the Oregon Elks Hoop Shoot contest which will be held at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon on Saturday, Feb. 14.
