JOHN DAY – Lisa Jensen reads a book to kids and parents during “Dream Big,” the summer reading program sponsored by Grant County Library. The story-and-craft sessions are held 10:30-noon Tuesdays through July 17 at John Day City Park. 

Youth up to 18 can receive weekday free lunches during the summer in parks throughout the county. The lunch program, offered by the Grant County Commission on Children and Families, will continue in John Day, Prairie City, Mt. Vernon and Dayville through Aug. 3. Lunches in Long Creek and Monument will be served through Aug. 1.
