Mad Hatter's Valentine's Finery

The Eagle/Jill Mallory
Norma Rynearson at the Jan. 29 meeting of the Red Hat Club, the Mad Hatters.

John Day - Twenty-five members of the Grant County Mad Hatters attended lunch at the Senior Center on Jan. 26.-Their hats were decorated with valentine finery and 7-year-old Clay Johnson was the judge and he liked Gayle Ryder's big heart light best. There were some really clever and neat decorations and he had a hard time deciding, but the light won.-

He has since written the club a thank-you note for letting him be the judge.

A lot of the ladies brought food for the county food bank and these were given to Walt Hall, who offered a big thank you.-

The next gathering is at 1 p.m. (note the different time) Feb. 28 at El Teulito Mexican restaurant (old Sunset Restaurant).

Come with your hats decorated with green as you know St. Patrick's Day will be coming up soon.

The plans now are to-attend Prairie City Senior Center for the March gathering.

The invitation is still open to all ladies 50 or older who would like to be part of the group. Info: 820-3597.
