Beginning July 13, the industrial fire precaution level (IFPL) was raised on all of the Malheur National Forest to level II, announced Rob Batten, assistant fire management officer. At this level, power saws (except at loading sites), cable yarding, blasting, welding or cutting of metal can only be used between 8 p.m. and 1 p.m.

Updated information will be posted on the forest Web site at www.fs.fed.us/r6/malheur as changes are made, or call (541) 575-3000 for more information.
