MT. VERNON – The Mt. Vernon Grange is planning a candidate night on Sunday, April 6, at the grange hall on Highway 26.

The event will start at 3 p.m.

Plans are still being firmed up, but organizers expect the three candidates for county commissioner – Republicans Gary Delaney, Sam Palmer and incumbent Boyd Britton – and district attorney candidates Jim Carpenter and Ryan Joslin to participate. They also hope to present several candidates for Congress, including Republican Dennis Linthicum and Democrats Frank Vulliet and Aelea Christofferson, although incumbent Rep. Greg Walden (R-Ore.) said he is unable to attend.

State Rep. Cliff Bentz (R-Ontario) has been invited, and his Democratic challenger, Peter Hall, plans to be on hand.

More information will be available in coming issues of the Eagle.
