BAKER CITY - Miners, don't get the shaft from claim jumpers, suggests the Eastern Oregon Mining Association.

The public is invited to listen to the guest speaker Baker County Clerk, Tami Green during for the EOMA's next meeting 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, at Baker City Hall, on the corner of First and Auburn streets.

All mining claims, in order to be legal have to be recorded at the county level and Green will answer questions and inform members the best way of recording, and looking up potential claim areas to make sure there are no claims recorded already.

EOMA meetings are held the first Friday of the month.
