On Tuesday, Feb. 15, 43 people enjoyed tacos with all the trimmin's, refried beans, apricots and cinnamon rolls. We welcomed visitors Shannon Bravos and Kristy Emerson, with her daughter Kyla, all of Monument, and Robert and Julia Wenzel of Mt. Vernon.
Jack Sweek, our president, announced that our local 4-H club is having a fund-raiser, selling boxes of oranges and grapefruit. If you want a 20-pound or 40-pound box, contact your nearest 4-H member soon, as they will be delivered in March. Also announced was that Home Extension was to have a class on Feb. 16 on making and maintaining a healthy home. I'm sure we all could learn from that.
John Day Seniors sent over a poster announcing a bus trip to the Pendleton Underground Tour and live show, with overnight at Wild Horse Casino. We were invited to join them, but later learned that the trip has been cancelled. Apologies to anyone who was planning to go.
Certificates were awarded to Donna Campbell, free meal; Betty Shrofe, Len's Drug; and Mary Neal, Chester's Thriftway.
Latest news from Carolyn is that she is back home, but not feeling up to coming to dinner at the Senior Center yet or writing the news; so yours truly is still sitting in for her.
