We had a nice group of 45 here on Dec.17 for our last senior dinner of 2002. We enjoyed taco casserole, cole slaw, pears and fruit filled bar cookies. Ruth Peterson and Dotty Jensen were the Dec. birthday ladies.

We had 15 guests, Rod and Julie Donnelly from Richmond, and the others were all part of the "Resource, Conservation and Development" organization. There was Karl Niederwerfer, Bryan Becker and Tim Loiland from Pendleton; George Clough and Phil Walchli from Hermiston; Janet Greenup from Heppner; Joe Taylor from Boardman; Stan Loop from Hood River; Kathy Ferge from Echo; Nadeen Dickison from Baker City; Cici Brooks from Fox and JoAnne Keerins from Izee. After dinner they and some of the locals held a meeting in the library.

Dotty Jensen had made four lovely, big Christmas wreaths and gave them to the seniors for a raffle and with good response for a net of $170. The lucky winners were Carolyn Williams, Grace Sweek, Thelma Williams and Julie Donnelly.

The weekly drawing winners were: Joanie Howell, free meal; Bodean Andersen, Chester's Thriftway; LuElla Neal, Len's Drug; Dottie Hawthorne, Nydam's Ace Hardware; Gus Peterson, John Day Hardware; Charlotte Howell, John Day Hardware; Julie Conley, Java Jungle.

We decided to change our regular bingo night, on Dec. 28, to New Year's Eve. We will have a "Bingo Watch Party" on Dec.31. It will be the usual potluck goodies, so gather up your quarters and come join us. The fun starts at 7 p.m. Happy Holidays to all and I'll see you next year.
