A community meeting will be held at the center on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 7 p.m. to plan a summer event for the community. Everyone is urged to contribute their ideas.

Seniors attended a graveside service for Nadine Wheeler on Sept. 6; afterward providing a potluck at the center.

The MMM (Monument Maids and Misses) Club held their well attended annual bake and garden produce sale on Sept. 10. A lot of good food was served.

The Sept. 3 luncheon was attended by Rick Minster, rural development officer for Oregon Economic and Community Development Department. Rick works with Grant, Harney and Malheur counties helping to bring economic development to those areas.

Fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, mixed corn and carrots, and brownies with vanilla ice cream was served to 33 attendees.

The free meal drawing was won by Bob Hawthorne, and the Chester's Thriftway certificate by Bodean Andersen.
