Macaroni and cheese spiced up with ham along with green beans, rolls and brownies topped with ice cream was served at the Monument Senior Center on Sept. 10. Donated fresh produce and baked goods also helped raise money to fill community needs.

Hopefully a full house will attend the community meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, to consider community events for Monument. Good ideas and lots of energy are needed.

On Sunday, Sept. 22, a special potluck dinner will be served beginning at 1 p.m. Honored guests include the foreign exchange students from Monument and Long Creek. This is becoming an annual event, with community members invited to get acquainted with the exchange students as they share about their homelands and interests. Since they are a long way from home in a very strange place, we need to show our support for having them here. Please come, bring a main dish, salad or dessert and join the Monument Extension ladies in welcoming these students to our communities.
