JOHN DAY – Moto Guzzi owners took their Italian bikes for spins throughout Grant County last weekend.

The Grant County Fairgrounds was the base of operations for the riders, who held their Oregon rally there June 22-23.

Founded in 1921, Moto Guzzi motorcyles are built in Mandello del Lario, Italy.

About 85 participants enjoyed camping, meetings and meals together.

Many of the owners rode in from British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Arizona, while some others flew into Oregon without their bikes to attend the event. Most took advantage of the beautiful scenery in Grant County for daily rides.

The highlight of the event was the bike show and awards on Saturday afternoon. Participants displayed their Moto Guzzis, ranging from brand new purchases to a vintage 1955 Falcone Sport owned by Wayne and Judy Beulke from Arizona.

Beulke stated that he purchased his Falcone directly off the showroom floor in 1955 and has ridden the bike through 22 states and parts of Canada.
