Mt. Vernon Middle School receives award

MT. VERNON - The Mt. Vernon Middle School recently was awarded the Outstanding Science Research Program Award from OMSI at the Northwest Science Expo in Portland.

The award was given to all sixth- through eighth-grade students at Mt. Vernon Middle School for their good quality, precise procedures and proper collection of data for their science projects. Neil Bauer and Deanna Nash are the science teachers for the middle school.

Bauer took 10th-, seventh- and eighth-grade students with their projects to the Northwest Science Expo to receive the award.
