MVMS wrestler places at nationals

LAKE ORION, Mich. - Mt. Vernon Middle School wrestler Jessica Cook finished eighth in the 120-pound weight division at the Girl's Nationals Wrestling Tournament held March 28-30.

Pitted against 15 other girls from around the country in her division, including competitors from as far away as Alaska and Hawaii, the seventh-grader held her own to come away with a medal in her first trip to the nationals.

Because of her outstanding performance, Cook has already earned a place on next year's nationals team.
