SALEM - Grant Union High School senior Kyle Myers has signed a letter of intent to play baseball for Western Baptist College, head coach Paul Gale announced.

As a junior in 2002, Myers was an all-league honorable mention player and named the team's most improved player, when the Prospectors won their seventh straight Greater Oregon League title.

Myers is the fourth Grant Union graduate in recent years to select Western Baptist to continue their baseball career.

Currently, seniors Erik Gilliam and Dustin Purnell are on the team, along with sophomore Brian Purnell.

Western Baptist College is a member of the Cascade Collegiate Conference. In 2002, the Warriors qualified for the NAIA Region I tournament for the first time in school history, and posted a season record of 29-23.
