NYSSA - The Bulldogs kept increasing the lead by small numbers in the first and second quarters of the Jan. 27 Wapiti League game, but held an 18-9 scoring advantage in the third period to come away with a 69-54 victory over the Prospectors.

The loss snapped the three-game Grant Union boys' winning streak.

Nyssa (5-1) held a slim 16-14 advantage after the first eight minutes and were ahead 31-26 at halftime.

The Prospectors mounted a furious rally late in the fourth quarter cutting the margin to seven points at the 2:57 mark, but it was not enough.

Chance Ferguson scored 16 points for Grant Union, (3-3). Nolin Page had 14 and Greg Waggoner added 10.

Marshall Ackley scored a game-high 19 points for Nyssa.
