David Lucius Judson, 61, of John Day, died Jan. 18, 2010, at Blue Mountain Hospital. A funeral service was held Jan. 22 at Driskill Memorial Chapel with Pastor Roger Blesi officiating. Interment was at Rest Lawn Cemetery in John Day.

Mr. Judson was born March 16, 1948, in Rapid City, S.D., to Merne "Jud" and Elizabeth "Betty" (Snesrud) Judson. In 1967, he graduated from Lincoln High School in Denver.

He married Kathryn Daniels on June 6, 1989, in Vale.

He was a small business owner, most recently owning Leather's Gas Station in John Day.

He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in John Day and was an accomplished Eagle Scout.

Survivors include his wife, Kathryn, of John Day; parents, Merne Sr. and Elizabeth Judson of Denver; brothers, Merne (Sarah) Judson Jr. and John (Patty) Judson, both of Gunnison, Colo., Mark (Kim) Judson of Crested Butte, Colo., and Paul (Nancy) Judson of Longmont, Colo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Lenore Judson.
