Juanita Clysta Potter, 93, died June 27, 2009 at Country Spice Residential Care Facility in John Day.

Mrs. Potter was born on July 1, 1915 to Marley and Clysta Sutton at "Poverty Flat," her parents' home between Hamilton and Long Creek. When she was 15, her family moved to the "Big Boulder Ranch" west of Bates. During good weather, she and her siblings rode their horses to school in Galena.

In 1935, she married Barney Pereira. They had two children, Tony and Yvonne.

After they divorced in 1943, she married Seth Bush and had one son, Kenneth. Mr. Bush died in 1961. In 1965, she married Lee Potter, who died in 1997.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; siblings, Jamie, Mary and George; granddaughter, Mary Majors; and son, Tony.

She had 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

At her request, there will be no services. Burial will be at Canyon City Cemetery.
