Obituaries: William Edward Wagner

William Edward Wagner, 71, of Mt. Vernon, died Oct. 7, 2010.

Mr. Wagner was born Sept. 7, 1939, in Cripple Creek, Colo., to William and Lois (Dittmar) Wagner.

He spent three years in the U.S. Marines, where he was a corporal.

On January 27, 1962, he married Mary Lou Wagner in Maywood, Calif. They have lived in Grant County for the past 12 years.

A retired business owner and entrepreneur, his hobbies included skiing, four-wheeling, family, camping, traveling and cars.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Wagner of Mt. Vernon; sons, Mark Wagner of Portland and John Wagner of Triangle Lake; daughter, Laurie Wagner Cardwell of Springfield; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
