JOHN DAY - We the People, a nonprofit organization in Grant County, plans a tour of forest and grasslands on Saturday, Aug. 31.

The group plans to leave from the John Day Senior Center at 9 a.m. The bus will be provided by D.R. Johnson.

Anyone interested in participating can ride free of charge. Pre-registration is requested. Participants should bring a lunch and ample water. Stops will be scheduled.

The ride will stop at sites along the Middle Fork John Day River. The focus is on the condition of forests and rangelands on federal land, including the Summit Fire area.
