Oregon Trail Electric Cooperative (OTEC) announced the directors have authorized the return of margins to its members. OTEC will return about $2.1 million to its members this year, which represents a portion of each members capital credit amount. Members will see this credit reflected in their December billing statements.

Over the past twelve years, OTEC has returned about $12.7 million in capital credit refunds to its members.

One of the basic principles of the cooperative is to return the equity to its members. When OTEC was formed, the board made a strong commitment to its members that it would stick to cooperative principles. They honor that commitment by returning equity when the financial condition of the cooperative allows.
