LA GRANDE - The 20th annual meeting of Oregon Trail Electric Cooperative (OTEC) met April 29 at the Blue Mountain Conference Center in La Grande.

Gary Miller of Grant County was re-elected for another three-year term on the board of directors.

About 60 raffle gifts were given away during the meeting. Don Porter of John Day was the grand-prize winner, winning a 27-inch color television.

Board President Peggi Timm discussed the 16 percent rate reduction because of the payout of the contract with CoGen in Prairie City.

"OTEC rate payers endured $130 million more in rates than we should have paid because of various co-generation projects," Timm said.
